May 29, 2018 (Suva) – The Pacific Islands Development Forum has compiled a checklist to help it organise greener events, that is, events that leave a lower environmental footprint.

The Green Events Checklist covers areas such as waste, energy use, printing and supplies, travel, and food and catering.

The Pacific Green Business Centre assisted the PIDF in developing this first version of a simple Green Events checklist. We intend to improve as we test it out while keeping it as simple as possible.

The PGBC is encouraging other organisations and business houses to adopt the checklist and if they do so, to use the logo to promote their Green Event.

The Checklist may be downloaded here. Organisations and business houses should feel free to adopt the checklist and use it against their own company logo.
